The Javelina Jangover Night Runs returns to Scottsdale, Arizona on September 19th, inviting runners of all levels to explore the McDowell Mountain Regional Park under a starlit sky. Participants can choose from five distinct trail distances ranging between 7 kilometers and 75 kilometers, each offering unique challenges and experiences within the park's expansive network of trails.
On race morning, temperatures in Scottsdale typically hover around mild conditions suitable for nighttime running, with firm yet slightly soft terrain that accommodates various footwear choices. The Pemberton Trailhead serves as both the starting point and a central hub where runners gather before setting off into the desert landscape. With numerous aid stations positioned along each course, participants can stay hydrated and refueled throughout their journey.
Since its inception in 2016, the Javelina Jangover Night Runs has become an integral part of Scottsdale's running community, attracting hundreds of runners annually who come to test themselves against the unique desert terrain. This year marks the event’s sixth iteration as a cornerstone race in Aravaipa Running Company's Insomniac Night Trail Run Series, which also includes five other night runs across Arizona.

The Javelina Jangover Night Runs offers runners a choice between 7 kilometers, 15 kilometers, 25 kilometers, 50 kilometers, and the challenging 75 kilometers. Each distance features its own set of challenges including varied terrain, elevation changes, and numerous aid stations along the way.
Registration for the Javelina Jangover Night Runs can be completed at https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=131011 with fees ranging from $45 to $170 depending on the distance selected. Bib pickup is available before race day, but it's recommended that participants register early as space may fill up quickly. For those unable to pick up their bibs in advance, a morning packet pickup will be held at the McDowell Mountain Park entrance near Fountain Hills.
Runners should plan to arrive at N McDowell Mountain Park Dr for the start of the event. Age requirements vary by distance but generally participants must be 16 years or older unless accompanied by an adult guardian. All runners are advised to bring adequate lighting, hydration supplies, and appropriate trail running gear suitable for nighttime conditions.
