The JBLM Half-Marathon returns for its second year on Saturday, September 19, 2026, offering runners the chance to challenge themselves with distances of half-marathon and 5K. The day kicks off early at 9:00 am with a fun-filled 1K race designed especially for young participants followed by the more competitive events starting around 9:15 am. Set within the scenic grounds of McChord Field, the courses wind through rolling hills and picturesque landscapes on primarily paved paths. All runners must adhere to strict time limits—finishing in under four hours—and maintain a pace that allows them to complete the full distance without stopping. The race is open to both military-affiliated individuals and civilians, with registration fees starting at $30 for the half-marathon and 5K events for those connected to the military. Online registration closes on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, by midnight, but day-of-race sign-ups are available from 7:00 am to 8:00 am in Heritage Hill Park. Participants who register early will receive a custom event T-shirt during packet pick-up at the Heritage Hill Airpark on Friday, September 18, 2026, between noon and 6 pm. Race day excitement begins with pre-race preparations at Heritage Hill Park from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. All participants will receive a custom bib number along with other essential race materials during packet pick-up. Upon crossing the finish line, runners can look forward to receiving a unique medal commemorating their achievement. For more information or assistance, contact jblmintramurals@army.mil. Remember that registration fees are non-refundable and T-shirts will only be available for those who register by August 31, 2026. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to experience the beauty of McChord Field while pushing your personal limits in a supportive community atmosphere. This event promises an unforgettable day for runners of all levels looking to test their skills against challenging terrain and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants amidst stunning natural surroundings.
