The race begins early on November 28th with staggered start times for each category. The elite runners in the 72KM Far Expedition Group will set off at 5:30 AM, aiming to complete their arduous journey by the following morning's deadline of 3:30 AM. This grueling route features a cumulative elevation gain of approximately 4188 meters and is expected to grant ITRA points worth four stars upon completion.
The 57KM Starlight Flame Group starts at 6:30 AM, with participants navigating through the breathtaking terrain until their cutoff time at 10:30 PM. This group faces a cumulative elevation gain of around 3431 meters and is projected to earn ITRA points worth three stars.
The 38KM Journey Group kicks off at 7:30 AM on race day, with competitors racing against the clock until their deadline at 6:30 PM. The route includes an approximate cumulative elevation gain of 2130 meters and participants are expected to earn ITRA points worth two stars.
The shorter but equally captivating 10KM Light Chaser Group offers runners a chance to experience Jinggangshan's natural beauty without the long-distance commitment, with their race beginning at 8:00 AM. This route is designed for those who wish to immerse themselves in the scenic trails and historical landmarks of Jinggangshan.
As participants traverse the rugged terrain, they will encounter numerous points of interest such as Huangyangjie—a historic site commemorating significant events during China's revolutionary era—and Xiaojing Red Army Hospital, a poignant reminder of the area’s storied past. The race course weaves through lush bamboo forests and alongside rushing streams, offering breathtaking vistas at every turn.
