Junior Life Guard Tournament Registration: Long Branch

The Monmouth County Junior Lifeguard Tournament is set to return this summer, offering young lifeguards the chance to showcase their skills and compete against peers from across the county. The tournament takes place at South Pavilion Beach, located just a quarter mile south of Pier Village or Wave Hotel.
Registration for eager junior guards begins early with an Early Bird rate of $30 per participant if signed up by July 3, 2026. Late registrants can join starting from July 4 through the day of the event at a slightly higher fee of $35. Coaches will provide shirts and lunch tickets for those who register ahead of time; late registrants should head to the designated table upon arrival.
The competition features three divisions based on age: "A" Division includes participants aged 14 and 15, while "B" Division is open to those 12 and 13 years old. The youngest competitors in the "C" Division are between 9 and 11 years of age. Teams can choose relay configurations that include at least one junior guard from each gender per team.
Competitors should arrive on time, as organization efforts will be made to ensure fairness despite the large number of participants—around 500 kids in total. In case there are any discrepancies with results, organizers aim to resolve them quickly and fairly; if a close call is undetermined, both competitors may receive ribbons.
Parents are encouraged to address concerns through their Team Reps rather than directly contacting guards or coaches on the day of the event for smoother communication channels. Additional parking options include paid lots near South Pavilion Beach and side streets around the area.
