Nestled amidst the stunning San Juan Mountains of Colorado, the Kendall Mountain Run offers an unforgettable adventure through breathtaking landscapes. Starting at historic Memorial Park in downtown Silverton, runners embark on a jeep road ascent that climbs to 9,318 feet before tackling a final steep scramble up to the summit of Kendall Mountain. At 13,066 feet above sea level, the peak provides panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. After reaching this lofty vantage point, participants descend along the backside of the mountain and reconnect with the jeep road for their return journey through scenic terrain before finishing in Memorial Park. For those looking to extend their adventure, the Silverton Mountain Duo combines two challenging events over a weekend: start on Saturday with either an 8-mile run, marathon, or ultra-distance race at Silverton Alpine, then follow it up with the Kendall Mountain Run on Sunday. Three package options are available that offer discounts when registering for both races together. To align with environmental conservation efforts, this year's event will be cupless, ensuring a cleaner trail experience by eliminating paper cups from aid stations. Participants can purchase an UltrAspire reusable container during registration or bring their own hydration gear to fill up at each station along the route. For more information about race day logistics and maps, visit the official Kendall Mountain Run website. Note that all entries are non-refundable and cannot be transferred; however, a detailed Race Withdrawal Policy is available for review on the site. Additionally, children aged 14 years or younger can participate with a special discount code obtained by emailing the event organizers. This unique mountain run promises an exhilarating journey through some of Colorado's most picturesque terrain while fostering respect and care for nature.
