Experience the breathtaking beauty of Massachusetts during the King's Tour of the Quabbin, set to take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026. This year marks the event’s return with exciting early bird registration rates available until July 3 at 9 p.m., offering a $10 discount for those who sign up in advance. Register online by September 30 before 9 p.m. to secure your spot; however, day-of-ride registrations will cost an additional $20. The tour offers four distinct routes: two scenic road rides and two challenging gravel adventures. Each route is designed with a focus on natural beauty and varied terrain, ensuring that every mile provides a memorable experience. All riders start their journey at the charming Hardwick Winery located at 3305 Greenwich Road in Hardwick, Massachusetts (01082). Check-in opens early at 6:45 a.m., with flexible start times recommended for different route preferences. Century road riders and gravel enthusiasts are advised to begin between 7:00-8:00 a.m., while those opting for the road metric route should set out from 8:00-9:00 a.m. The tour’s routes, though not marked with arrows, have been carefully scouted in advance. Should any changes be necessary due to unexpected conditions, updated GPS links will be sent via email prior to the event. The Road Metric route spans approximately 64 miles and features about 5,000 feet of climbing, while the Road Century covers a substantial 101 miles with over 6,000 feet of elevation gain. Gravel enthusiasts can choose between two routes: one covering roughly 77 miles (with around 6,000 feet of climbing) and another slightly shorter at about 45 miles. Both gravel options avoid DCR trails but offer an extra challenge for those opting for the harder finish on the longer route. Rest stops are strategically placed to provide necessary breaks. The Road Metric and both gravel routes will stop at Petersham Common, while additional rest points include Palmer (for the road metric) and Farmer Matt in New Braintree (for all routes). Participants can enjoy refreshments following their ride at Hardwick Winery, with a food truck available for afternoon snacks. Limited to 150 riders, this event promises an unforgettable adventure through the pristine Quabbin Reservoir. Whether you're on the road or tackling gravel paths, there's something for every seasoned cyclist and newcomer alike. With flexible start times and options to change your route selection online up until race day, participants can tailor their experience according to personal preference. For more information, visit .
