Embark on an extraordinary adventure at the KootwijkerzandTrail & Walk, set to take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Organized by CAIRN Trails & Adventures, this unique trail running and walking event invites you to explore one of Europe's largest active sand dune areas. The route is a challenging yet scenic journey through the vast Kootwijkerzand region, known affectionately as the "Sahara of the Netherlands." Over 99% of the course consists of unpaved terrain, offering runners and walkers an experience that includes expansive sandy landscapes, beautiful forests, demanding single tracks, charming dirt roads, and breathtaking views. The event starts and finishes near the riding hall located at Harkamperweg 9a in Kootwijkerbroek. After years of preparation, CAIRN Trails & Adventures is proud to present this new trail experience. Participants should be aware that due to a tight registration period starting from October 1st, there may not be time for official race timing or souvenir production because of delivery constraints. Registration fees have been kept lower as a result of these considerations, making it an affordable opportunity to explore one of the Netherlands' most unique trail environments.
