Senlis-Athlé is set to host the fifth edition of its annual Nordic Walking Festival on November 21 and 22, 2026. On Saturday, November 21, from 2:30 PM at Hugues Capet Gymnasium along Avenue de Reims in Senlis, a beginner-friendly workshop will introduce participants aged nine and up to the joys of Nordic walking. Baskets will be provided for those who don't have their own. The following day on Sunday, November 22, starting from 9:30 AM at Hugues Capet Gymnasium, two main events are scheduled: - A competitive race covering a distance of 20.5 kilometers, recognized as part of the National FFA label and included in both the Nordic Walking Tour 2027 and the Nordique Challenge Hauts de France series. This event also serves as a qualifying round for the French Championship 2027. - A leisurely walk spanning 13.3 kilometers that is open to all participants but not officially timed or classified. Both routes wind through picturesque forest trails in Pontarmé and Ermenonville, offering stunning natural scenery and an invigorating outdoor experience. To ease access for visitors, two parking areas will be available: one near the rugby stadium and another adjacent to Hugues Capet High School. This year's event is dedicated to supporting "Néonatologie et Pédiatrie," a local charity at Senlis Hospital, with every participant contributing €1 towards this cause. Previous editions have seen strong competition and camaraderie among participants, culminating in detailed results that are available online for those interested in past performances by teams or individuals. With its blend of competitive spirit and community engagement, the Nordic Walking Festival promises to be an engaging event for both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike.
