Nestled in the heart of France’s Haute-Savoie region, this charming village is surrounded by panoramic views that stretch from Mont Blanc to the Chain des Aravis, creating a picturesque setting for athletic pursuits.
The event features four distinct race categories designed to cater to various levels of endurance and skill:
La Bambette (10km, 600m D+)
Ideal for young runners born before August 30, 2008, this shorter route begins in the heart of La Giettaz. The course winds through scenic trails that lead to the Col des Aravis and Alpage des Plachaux, offering a mix of gentle climbs and descents with stunning views of Mont Blanc.
La Petite Bambée (16km, 920m D+)
Aimed at runners born before August 30, 2008, this route extends further into the mountains. The course includes visits to Le Col des Aravis and Alpage des Plachaux, followed by a challenging climb up to Blanchets. Along the way, participants enjoy liquid refreshments at La Frête and solid snacks near Les Crêtes.
La Bambée (28km, 1780m D+)
Designed for more experienced runners born before August 30, 2006, this route offers a thrilling journey through the rugged terrain of Croisse-Baulet. The course includes ascents and descents along the Col de Niard, Tour du Croisse Baulet, and Col du Jaillet, culminating in breathtaking views from Les Crêtes La Tête du Torraz.
La Grande Bambée (44km, 2700m D+)
For those seeking a true marathon challenge, this full-distance event is the ultimate test. Born before August 30, 2006, runners must navigate through challenging alpine terrain and steep ascents to reach Le Croisse-Baulet. The route features multiple checkpoints for hydration and sustenance along with unparalleled views of Mont Blanc.
Each race offers unique highlights such as panoramic vistas, lush meadows, and remote wilderness areas that showcase the beauty of this mountainous region. Participants will encounter various trail conditions ranging from well-trodden paths to steep rocky trails, providing a diverse challenge throughout their journey.
The event is organized by Val d'Arly Mont Blanc in collaboration with Sportips platform for registration purposes. Early bird pricing offers discounted rates until August 23rd, after which standard fees apply up until the race day on September 10th. Accompanying spectators can also enjoy a meal at designated times.
