The Vélo Club de Brignais is excited to host the 35th edition of La Henry Anglade, a celebrated mountain bike and gravel cycling event set for Sunday, September 27, 2026. Nestled within the Monts du Lyonnais region, this annual gathering offers an array of courses designed to cater to cyclists of all ages and skill levels. For young enthusiasts aged 3 to 16 years old, La Henry Anglade features a special program that includes a draisienne race for children between 3 and 6 years. This fun event takes place at the Minssieux complex’s petanque field with departures scheduled at 10:30 AM. Additionally, there are circuit races for kids aged 7 to 16 starting from the nearby Jamayère Farm at 9:30 AM. Competitive cyclists can look forward to challenging courses that traverse through scenic landscapes of Saint Martin en Haut and beyond. Two main categories are available: - A VTT (mountain bike) course covering 52 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 1,160 meters. - A gravel cycling route spanning 50 kilometers and climbing up by 1,050 meters. Both routes cater to riders aged 17 years or older. There's also an intermediate VTT race for those between the ages of 15 and 16, featuring a more manageable 36-kilometer distance with an elevation gain of 810 meters. Tandem bikes are welcome in all competitive categories. Randonneurs have their own set of options ranging from leisurely rides to longer adventures through Mornant. Departing anytime after 7:30 AM or grouped at 9:00 AM, participants can choose among various VTT and gravel cycling routes spanning between 33 kilometers up to a challenging 75 kilometers. The event kicks off early in the morning with competitive cyclists assembling from 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM at the Minssieux complex. The official race start is set for precisely 9:00 AM, followed by group departures for randonneurs and family-friendly rides shortly after. On-site facilities include showers, bike wash stations, a secure bicycle parking area, and multiple rest stops along each route to ensure all participants stay hydrated and energized throughout the day. The first 500 registrants receive welcome gifts and hot meals upon arrival at the finish line. In addition to competitive races, La Henry Anglade offers non-competitive options such as leisurely walks of 8 or 12 kilometers for those who prefer a more relaxed pace while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Registration is exclusively online until Friday, September 25th, by midnight. On-site registration and bib collection are available on Saturday from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM and Sunday morning starting at 7 AM. The event concludes with awards ceremonies for all age categories beginning around noon followed by a celebratory lunch open to everyone who has participated in the day's activities.
