On August 29, 2026, the picturesque region of Aspres will host its eleventh annual trail running and hiking festival. This beloved community event offers three distinct options for runners and hikers alike: an adult trail race over rugged terrain, a junior trail race designed specifically for young athletes, and a family-friendly pedestrian hike.
The main attraction is the 13.2-kilometer adult trail race, which winds through the charming villages of Llupia, Terrats, and Ste Colombede la Commanderie. This challenging course gains an elevation of 233 meters as it navigates both paved roads and forest trails, offering spectacular views of rolling hills and verdant landscapes.
For younger participants, there's a dedicated junior trail race covering 10.9 kilometers with a more manageable climb of 142 meters. The route through the same scenic villages provides an excellent introduction to competitive running for young athletes aged under 18 who must have parental permission or be licensed runners.
Families can also enjoy the event with a leisurely pedestrian hike, which mirrors part of the junior race's course over 10.9 kilometers and climbs just 142 meters in elevation. This family-friendly option allows parents to explore the beautiful countryside while their children participate in the trail events or simply join them on this scenic walk.
Registration for all three activities will be available online starting July 6th at le-sportif.com, with a discounted registration fee of €13 for adults and €11 for juniors due to sponsorship support from the organizing club. The latter amount includes a contribution of €2 towards a local charity.
Race numbers can be picked up on August 29th between 09:30 AM and 12:30 PM at INTERSPORT in Perpignan's Nord Polygone shopping center, or after 3:30 PM at the Amade Hall in Llupia. Both locations provide convenient access to all event participants.
