Runners are invited to explore the picturesque Golden Gate Park on September 27, 2026, for an engaging race day. Participants can choose between two distances: a spirited 5K or a shorter but equally enjoyable 1-mile run. The 5K event begins at 8:30 AM and is designed for speed with its mostly flat terrain in Golden Gate Park's scenic landscapes. The course starts on Blue Heron Drive, near Pioneer Log Cabin Meadow, then turns left onto JFK Drive. Runners will continue along this route until they reach the turnaround point just before an overpass. From there, participants head back down to the park’s edge and turn left onto Conservatory East Drive for their return journey. The 1-mile race starts at 9:15 AM from the same location as the 5K but takes a slightly different path through Stow Lake Drive next to Pioneer Log Cabin Meadow. After turning right onto JFK Drive, runners will reach their turnaround point near the De Young Museum and swing back down along this iconic thoroughfare before crossing the finish line. Both races support local education initiatives by benefiting a public elementary school in San Francisco. At the finish line, all participants are greeted with a delicious donut treat, ensuring everyone leaves feeling satisfied after their run. For those with dietary restrictions, an allergen-free option will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants should note that parking is not permitted along JFK Drive during race hours, so arriving early to secure nearby spots around Stow Lake is recommended for easy access and convenience. Registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1-mile event. Race shirts will be provided at no extra cost but sizes may vary depending on availability. Financial assistance is available upon request by emailing donutdashsf@gmail.com. Join us in Golden Gate Park to experience a day filled with running, community support, and sweet rewards!
