The race itself, though dubbed as grueling by some, takes place on a compact city block around PetSkull Brewing. The course measures 546.8 yards or approximately 1,640 feet—a distance so short yet challenging enough for participants who prefer the thrill of humor over traditional athletic prowess. Along with themed rest stations and enthusiastic supporters cheering you on, this race promises to be a memorable event.
Participants will receive an array of swag that includes a one-of-a-kind t-shirt, a participation medal celebrating all abilities, and a smug oval magnet for your car—a nod to the spirit of fun and camaraderie. The real reward lies in supporting Lakeshore CAP, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families within our community.
Post-race festivities include live music from Big Mouth and the Power Tools, games like SINGO (a silent bingo variation), an auction for coveted prizes, and various activities such as hair tinsel stations, temporary tattoos, photo ops, and yard games. The event also features a 50/50 raffle and several prize baskets with winners announced at 4:30 PM.
Packet pick-up is easy-going; simply arrive between 11:30 AM and noon to collect your goodies without the need for an early wake-up call. Parking options are plentiful around PetSkull Brewing, though you may have to park a block or two away—consider it part of the warm-up routine.
