Welcome to Lioran Station in the heart of Cantal Massif within Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Nestled among fir trees and volcanic peaks, this picturesque location is home to the fourth edition of the 4 x 1800 Trail, organized by the "Lioran Sports Club." The event takes place mid-July against a backdrop that includes the stunning landscapes of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Park. The race offers five distinct challenges for trail runners: - Plomb Trail (13 km): This route features 600 meters of elevation gain and is known for its steep, fast terrain. It starts and finishes at Lioran Station.
- Ridge Trail (22 km): With an impressive 1,200 meters of ascent, this course takes runners through ridges with a volcanic peak pass at Peyre Arse. - 4 x 1800 Trail (35 km for solo or duo relay): This technical race includes four summit passages above 1,800 meters. It offers no poles and minimal tricks, maintaining authenticity throughout the course that spans over rugged terrain with a single refreshment station at Saint-Jacques-des-Blats. For those up to an extra challenge, there's also: - Cantalous Marathon (45 km): Combining both "The 4 x 1800 Trail" and "Plomb Trail," this marathon totals 2,600 meters of elevation gain over a demanding weekend run. Participants can earn ITRA points through the UTMB Index circuit for various distances. Beyond competitive racing, Lioran Station offers activities for all ages. Children have their own 1 km loop with some elevation to get them started on trail running experiences early in life. The event is known for its friendly and festive atmosphere, making it a great family outing. With the station's winter ski domain spanning over 150 hectares featuring 43 slopes, there are plenty of options for off-season activities such as hiking trails that explore forest paths and crest routes during summer months. Join us in Lioran Station this July to experience one of France’s most scenic trail running events. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, the Cantal Massif offers an unforgettable adventure with its diverse landscapes and challenging terrain.

About Le Lioran
Learn more about the host city, Le Lioran.
Le Lioran is a small mountain resort in the heart of continental France. It consists of the original settlement of Le Lioran in the valley bottom as well as the settlements of Prairie de Sagnes, Font d'Alagon, Font de Cère, and Prat de Bouc, all of which are geared towards the mountain tourism market. The largest of these is the Prairie de Sagnes, now known as Super-Lioran; most facilities and accommodation are concentrated there. One of the few remaining resorts in central France, it has grown to become one of the biggest and most advanced resorts in the Massif Central. There is a wide range of sporting and leisure activities on offer in addition to the more traditional winter sports and the wealth of lodging and other services available. There is a heavy emphasis on the all year round nature of the resort, although, inevitably, the resort is busiest in the winter season.
