Leiden Marathon Wandelen

Experience the 36th edition of the Leiden Marathon and the 8th Wandelmarathon on May 7 and 8, 2027 – an eagerly awaited celebration that brings together runners and walkers for two unforgettable days. Originally a sporting adventure, this event has now become a beloved weekend festival in Leiden.
The previous year's walking edition was particularly special with its bustling city atmosphere and the unique charm of Leiden permeating every corner. This spirit is what organizers aim to recreate and enhance even further in 2027 – ensuring that participants are immersed in an experience like no other.
Whether you're here for a sporting challenge, to enjoy scenic routes through the heart of the city and its surroundings, or simply to soak up the incredible atmosphere along the way, Leiden promises not to disappoint. Walkers will take on the same beautiful paths as runners do on Sunday during their 10km, half-marathon (21km), or full marathon (42km) events.
The event offers a day filled with enjoyment and support from hundreds of volunteers who work tirelessly to make your experience memorable. From start to finish, this is all about you – the participant.
Registration for both running and walking categories opens immediately and closes on May 1st, or earlier if any distance fills up before then. Entry fees are as follows:
- 10 km walk: €17
- Half Marathon (21km): €22
- Full Marathon (42km): €32
Join us in Leiden this spring for an event that combines sport, culture, and community spirit like no other. Whether you're loping along or taking it at a more leisurely pace – we look forward to seeing you there!
