About the Event

Welcome to the Lerkilsloppet, an exciting family-friendly race taking place on October 4, 2026. The day promises fun and engaging activities for runners of all ages, with events starting at 9:00 AM for a special dog run followed by various distances for humans.
The main races kick off at Ängås IP in the morning, beginning with the shortest distance at 11:30 AM for children aged 6 to 8 years. This is quickly followed by the 2km race starting at noon and designed for kids between 9 and 11 years old. A little later, participants can join a 5km run that welcomes runners from age 12 upwards, with an earlier start time of 12:30 PM to allow everyone to enjoy the full experience.
For those looking for more distance under their legs, there's also a challenging 10km race starting at 1:30 PM. Each event is designed not only to cater to different age groups and skill levels but also to create memorable experiences for all participants.
Entry fees are affordable, with children up to the age of 15 paying just $9 (approximately) while adults contribute around $20. The race day atmosphere will be lively, featuring a communal warm-up session ten minutes before each event's start time, ensuring everyone is ready and energized for their run.
In addition to these main races, there’s also a mini-run of about 400 meters specifically designed for the youngest participants aged from newborns up to six years old. This shorter race starts at 11:15 AM right after the initial warm-up session, offering parents and caregivers an opportunity to sign their little ones up on-site.
Once you cross the finish line, be sure to collect your medal as well as a complimentary water bottle filled with refreshing fluids. There's also plenty of post-race entertainment including prizes for top performers in each category, refreshments like snacks and hot beverages available at various stalls throughout the venue. The event concludes with fun activities such as candy showers and food vendors serving delicious treats.
Lerkilsloppet is more than just a race; it’s an entire day filled with community spirit, friendly competition, and joyful celebrations for all participants and their families.
