On October 21, 2023, the Parents' Association of St Pierre des Landes School is hosting its tenth annual trail race. The event offers runners three distinct courses to choose from: an expert route covering 22.6 kilometers with a start time at 2 PM; a confirmed course spanning 11.03 kilometers beginning at 2:30 PM; and an introductory path of 5 kilometers that departs at 3 PM.
For the younger participants, there's also a fun one-kilometer race for children born in or after 2013, set to start at 4 PM. Each child who takes part will receive a small gift upon completion of their run.
The courses are designed with varied terrain and elevation changes that offer runners both challenging climbs and scenic views across the surrounding landscape. Along each route, there are multiple hydration stations strategically placed to ensure participants stay hydrated throughout the race.
In addition to the main event, early morning activities include a gourmet walk and a bicycle ride for those who wish to explore further before the run begins. These events commence between 8 AM and 10 AM (with the longest trail starting as late as 9 AM).
Registration fees vary depending on the activity: €5 covers access to all three running trails or the bike route, while entry into the children's race is just €2.
The event takes place at St Pierre des Landes Sports Fields where a lively and welcoming atmosphere awaits. Throughout the day, there will be plenty of food options available for runners and spectators alike, including savory galettes with sausages and fries to keep energy levels up.
