The 43rd edition of the Foulées de Bayeux, an annual running festival celebrated in the historic city of Bayeux, offers runners and spectators alike a diverse array of events across multiple days. This year's program features races for all ages, from young children to seasoned marathoners. On Saturday, March 20th, events kick off with youth races at various times starting from 3:30 PM onwards. Mini-poussinettes (ages 4-5) and mini-poussinets (6 years old), as well as older categories like poussines (girls aged 7-8) and poussins (boys aged 7-8), will have their races on the same day, culminating in a circuit for bambins at 5:15 PM. For those looking to run further distances, there is an intersport race starting at 5:30 PM, offering both competitive and recreational opportunities. A family-friendly 5K event begins earlier that afternoon at 4:30 PM. Sunday, March 21st marks the main events of the weekend with a semi-marathon (Alain Buchart) taking place from Colléville-sur-Mer to Stade Henry Jeanne in Bayeux starting at 8:15 AM. The highlight is undoubtedly the Marathon des Héros which starts in Grandcamp- Maisy and concludes back in Bayeux, with a grand finish line ceremony. Participants can pick up their race numbers on specific dates leading up to the event; Wednesday March 17th through Friday March 19th at designated locations. On Saturday, March 20th, dossard collection will be available from 9 AM until 6 PM. For those unable to collect in person, a delivery service is offered for an additional fee of €7. All major events are FFA (Fédération Française Athlétisme) certified and serve as qualifiers for the French championships. Accommodation options range from cozy apartments with Domitys to comfortable hotel rooms at Novotel Bayeux or through local tourism services provided by the Office de Tourisme de Bayeux. For registration, individuals must submit either a valid FFA license or complete an online Parcours de Prévention Santé (PPS) form available three months before the event. Parents of minors participating in youth races are required to provide written authorization for their children's participation. The city of Bayeux and its surrounding areas offer not only challenging courses but also a rich historical backdrop, ensuring that participants enjoy both athletic competition and cultural immersion during this memorable weekend.
