The 26th edition of the Foulées des Portes du Maine - Run for Fun will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2027. This vibrant race offers a variety of events suitable for all ages and skill levels. Young athletes can participate in the Groupama Youth Race, covering 1500 meters with individual rankings available to those born between 2013 and 2014. For even younger runners aged 6-8 (born from 2015 to 2016), there's a fun Balade des Poussins event also set at 1500 meters. For the more adventurous, pairs can compete in the Thibault Automobiles Duo Race over 3.5 kilometers, where participants start and finish as teams. Solo runners have two options: the Créidt Agricole 5K or the longer Saint Maclou Trophy race at 10 kilometers. The event also includes a special Descente des Bambins for kids under six years old (born in 2017 and after), covering a short distance of 250 meters. All these events are accessible to athletes with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity across the board. Registration is required online; however, there will be on-site dossard collection from 12:30 PM at the salle des fêtes until just before each race begins. Participants must bring a valid ID or sports license for pick-up purposes. The day's schedule unfolds with the Groupama Youth Race starting at 1:30 PM followed closely by the Balade des Poussins at 1:32 PM. The Thibault Automobiles Duo Race kicks off at 1:45 PM, while younger children will race in the Descente des Bambins from 2:20 PM onwards. The main races start with the Créidt Agricole 5K at 2:30 PM for those born before and including 2012. The grand finale is the Saint Maclou Trophy 10K, beginning promptly at 3:30 PM for athletes aged ten years or older. After each race concludes, there will be a prize ceremony in the salle des fêtes where winners receive awards based on their overall finish and age group performance. A raffle drawing with prizes awarded to lucky participants further enhances the festive atmosphere of this community event.
