Set against the picturesque backdrop of Château du Bois Cornillé, the 7th edition of Foulées d'Izé promises an enchanting day for runners and nature enthusiasts alike. Scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, this event offers a variety of distances to cater to different levels of experience and endurance. The morning kicks off at 9:00 AM with a guided hike covering approximately 10 kilometers through the lush surroundings around Château du Bois Cornillé. Participants can enjoy the serene beauty of nature as they meander along scenic trails, taking in the sights and sounds of this charming locale. At 10:00 AM, the event transitions to competitive action with two timed races starting simultaneously: a shorter 6-kilometer course and an extended 12-kilometer route. Both courses wind through varied terrain, offering runners a mix of woodland paths and open fields. A mid-race refreshment station is set up at approximately half the distance for those tackling the longer event. A new addition to this year's lineup is the Run des Jeunes, an un-timed 3-kilometer run designed specifically for young participants, starting promptly at 11:30 AM. This family-friendly initiative aims to encourage kids and teenagers to experience the joy of running in a supportive environment. The day concludes with the Bambizéenne, a one kilometer fun run that welcomes all ages and abilities, rolling out from the sports complex at noon. The event's finish line will feature a lively podium ceremony recognizing the top three male and female finishers across both timed races (6 km and 12 km) as well as the shorter distances. Throughout the day, participants can look forward to refreshments provided along each route and upon finishing their respective events. A full-service bar and food area is also available on-site for spectators and competitors alike looking to refuel or celebrate post-race achievements. Parking facilities are conveniently arranged near the event venue to ensure easy access for all attendees. Detailed maps of the race routes will be displayed at registration, though some sections may traverse private property where pre-competition scouting isn't possible due to logistical constraints. Foulées d'Izé invites runners and their families from across the region and beyond to join in this special day celebrating fitness, community spirit, and the natural beauty that surrounds us. We hope you'll be part of making history at this year's edition! Join us for a memorable event filled with scenic routes, spirited competition, and plenty of fun activities for all ages.
