On Saturday, October 3rd, the charming town of Redon hosts its annual Les Marronnaises race series, offering both children and adult runners an exciting day of competition. Starting at 4:15 PM, young athletes aged between 2016-2017 will compete in a 1.2 km course designed to be fun and engaging for the little ones. The U14 category follows with its 2.4 km race starting at 4:30 PM. For older participants, there are two challenging courses. At 5 PM, athletes born before or on 2011 can test their endurance in a 10 km event over two loops of the city's flat and performance-friendly circuit. This course is also a qualifier for the French Championship. Meanwhile, those born before 2013 are invited to join the 5 km race at 6 PM. Both courses promise excellent conditions with clear paths through Redon’s historic streets, providing an enjoyable running experience for all levels of athletes. Dossards for these events will be limited: only 500 spots are available for the 10 km run and 250 slots for the 5 km. Interested runners can secure their spot by registering online until Thursday, October 1st at 11 PM or earlier if all places are taken. On-site registration is also possible but limited to those with remaining places on the day of the event. The cost is €13 per participant; FFA-licensed athletes receive a discount of €2. A valid ID and proof of membership may be required for online registrations, while non-members must present a PPS (Personal Participation Statement) at the race. The race will take place in Redon, located on Rue Lucien Poulard with GPS coordinates 47.6499149 -2.0895917. For FFA members, license verification is necessary via SIFFA to confirm your participation. Non-members should prepare their PPS the day before. This event promises a memorable experience for runners of all ages and abilities in one of France's picturesque towns.
