Light the Way 5K Fun Run

Memorial Park in downtown Lawrence provides a picturesque setting. At race morning, expect early autumn foliage and clear skies, making it ideal weather for an outdoor run. This year marks its sixth edition since inception, growing in popularity with over 300 participants last year alone. All proceeds go towards supporting local scholarships and education initiatives, making this event not just a run but an important community activity.
The race venue is Memorial Park, known for its hard and dry surface providing a smooth running experience. The course loops through the park's wooded trails before returning to the starting point. Notable features include a gradual incline near the finish line and two aid stations offering water and snacks at strategic points along the route.
