Light Up The House 5K and Block Party

Experience the vibrant atmosphere of Light up the House 5K, an exciting race that brings together runners and families for an evening filled with fun and community spirit. Set to take place on November 14th, this event offers participants a chance to enjoy a scenic 5K course around your neighborhood.
Registration opens early in September at $40 per participant until the end of September, then increases to $45 from October through mid-November. On race day itself, the entry fee jumps to $50 for adults, while children aged 12 and under can register for a discounted rate of $30 on November 14th after paying just $25 during pre-race registration periods.
The event kicks off with a special Kids Fun Run at 5:30 PM where young participants have the opportunity to run around their local block, enjoying an obstacle-free route designed specifically for them. This is followed by the main attraction—the Light up the House 5K starting promptly at 6:00 PM.
Participants will be treated to a festive Block Party from 4:30 PM until 7:30 PM, featuring live entertainment and family-friendly activities that provide an energetic pre-race atmosphere. For those who prefer to prepare in advance, packet pickup is available on Friday, November 13th at any of the participating First Place Sports stores between 10 AM and 4 PM.
All finishers can look forward to receiving a commemorative medal along with their race shirt as they cross the finish line under the glow of festive lighting. The course itself winds through familiar streets, offering runners an intimate connection with their community while also highlighting local landmarks and residential areas.
