Live Like Laken 5K

Nestled within the rolling hills and vibrant landscapes of Woodstock, Georgia, the Live Like Laken 5K returns on October 24th, 2026. This beloved annual race honors the memory of Laken Riley through her dedication to safety awareness and nursing education. Set at Cherokee Recreation Park’s Hobgood Park, the event promises a scenic course that weaves through picturesque pathways and lush greenery.
Race morning will usher in crisp autumn air and vibrant fall foliage, creating an inviting atmosphere for both runners and spectators alike. Participants kick off their journey at 8:00 AM from Hobgood Park's main entrance, with two strategically placed aid stations ensuring a steady supply of water throughout the course. The terrain is firm yet slightly soft, offering a balanced challenge.
This year marks the third iteration of the Live Like Laken 5K, which has grown into more than just an event; it’s a community gathering that brings together families and friends in support of The Laken Hope Foundation. With hundreds expected to participate, this race fosters a welcoming environment for both experienced runners and newcomers.
Weather conditions on race day are anticipated to be comfortable, with temperatures ranging from 12 degrees Celsius at dawn to around 22 degrees by mid-morning. Average winds and moderate UV levels ensure ideal running weather; however, participants should come prepared for light rainfall, as it's a possibility in October.
Registration is straightforward: the cost for an in-person participant is $34.09, while virtual runners pay $28.74. Participants can register online through https://raceroster.com/events/2026/112086/live-like-laken-5k and must arrive at Hobgood Park by 7:00 AM on the day of the event with their bib numbers.
Bibs are available for pickup from Woodstock City Hall starting at 5:30 PM daily until race day. Valid photo ID is required to ensure participants meet the minimum age requirement, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
