Experience the breathtaking beauty and rich history of Biloxi and Ocean Springs during the highly anticipated return of Live Oak 50K, presented by Rougarou Running. This unique supported run weaves through iconic landmarks such as the Biloxi Lighthouse, along serene beach boardwalks, and across the bridge to picturesque Downtown Ocean Springs and its Front Beaches. The route culminates in a peaceful journey through Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park before returning to downtown Biloxi for an exhilarating finish at Altered Reality Brewing. The course is meticulously designed to provide runners with exceptional support throughout their 50K adventure. In 2026, Ainsley's Angels will once again return to set up a vibrant and fun aid station on Front Beach, ensuring that ultra-runners are well-supported along the way. Rougarou Running remains committed to supporting this noble cause, encouraging participants to consider donating an additional amount during registration or race day. Navigating through Biloxi’s urban landscape requires attention as there will be no signs at every turn; however, neon tape markers and detailed section descriptions posted online will guide runners safely along the route. The city of Ocean Springs is known for its runner-friendly atmosphere, offering a safe environment with minimal traffic. Participants can expect well-stocked aid stations approximately every 3-4 miles, featuring water, Hammer Nutrition products (Heed and Gels), fruit, and snacks. For those seeking more substantial food options, Tato Nut Donuts on Government Street is highly recommended. The race offers a total of six aid locations for your convenience: 1. Golden Nugget at mile 7.1 - unmanned with only water 2. Ainsley Angels Aid Station at Ft Maurepas and Front Beach Dr at mile 9.8 3. Tri Hard Sports on Porter Ave at mile 13.9, offering a restroom stop Drop bags are allowed at stations 2/5 (Ainsley Angels), 3, and 4, but not station 1/6 due to its unmanned nature. Use small backpacks or traditional dropbags labeled with your name and location; ziplock bags work well for this purpose. The half-marathon course follows the same scenic route up until Biloxi Beach, then heads across the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge before looping back through Ocean Springs via Howard Ave to Altered Reality Brewing. Both distances offer a shared array of post-race amenities and awards, ensuring that all participants are celebrated for their efforts. Race day begins with check-in starting at 7:15 AM on race morning, followed by the half-marathon start at 10:00 AM and the full 50K start at 8:00 AM. Early registration allows you to secure your bib number without physical distribution until closer to the event. Awards are generously given out for all finishers in both races. The top three male and female runners, as well as age division winners (Masters 40-49, Grand Masters 50-59, Seniors 60-69, Legends 70+), will receive unique quality awards. For the half-marathon, all finishers are honored with an award, and top three male and female runners also get additional recognition. Volunteers from previous years can enjoy a significant discount on their entry fee or even a full refund depending on hours volunteered. New volunteers have the opportunity to earn free or reduced entry into future Rougarou Running events by participating in Live Oak 2027. Join us for an unforgettable race that combines history, nature, and community spirit, all while supporting a worthy cause through Ainsley's Angels.
