Logan Peak Trail Run

Logan Peak. 20 years. A marathon with 6,600 ft of climbing — comparable to many 50ks. The Logan Peak Trail Run returns on Saturday, June 20, 2026, starting at 6:00 AM from Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park in Logan, Utah. Iconic lollipop course through Logan Dry Canyon and Providence Canyon. Amazing views, varied terrain, and outstanding trails in Cache Valley. New race directors: Cody & Bethany Draper (Cody has run the race 10 times). Partial refunds available before June 1 — we'll Venmo you $50 for "that bum knee." Waitlist invites require a response within 48 hours.

Location — Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park, Logan, Utah:

• 1400 E 350 S, Logan, UT 84321 — at the mouth of Logan Dry Canyon
• Logan is a university town in northern Utah's Cache Valley, about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City
• The course traverses the mountainous area around Logan Peak (9,710 ft), the high point of the Logan skyline

Course — Iconic Trail Marathon:

• Predominantly lollipop course (out‑and‑back with a loop at the far end)
• Logan Dry Canyon and Providence Canyon — two of the main drainages just south of Logan Canyon
• 6,600+ ft elevation gain — comparable to many 50k races
• Varied terrain and habitat: sagebrush, oak brush, aspen groves, conifer forests, and alpine ridgelines
• Amazing views of Cache Valley, Bear River Range, and Wellsville Mountains
• Official time cutoff is 3:00 PM (9 hours), but "most of us will hang around for you if you are late"

New Management — Cody & Bethany Draper:

• Cody has run the Logan Peak Trail Run 10 times, including the first year (2007). He has also served as an aid station captain.
• Bethany has yet to run it but will be on course and at the finish taking amazing photos.

• Chip timing
• Finisher award (likely medal — 20th edition special)
• Event shirt (design for the 20th running)
• Aid stations with water, electrolyte, and typical ultra fare (locations on course map)

• Bag drop at start/finish
• Post‑race refreshments (Logan is a great place to hang out and have fun)

Partial Refunds — The Bum Knee Policy:

• Partial refunds available prior to June 1, 2026
• We will Venmo you $50 "so you can go to PT and get some help for that bum knee/ankle/hip/back etc."
• No full refunds — but a creative way to give something back

Waitlist Info:

• If the race fills and you are on the waitlist, check your email often
• If you receive an invite to register (you are off the waitlist), you have 48 hours to respond
• If you do not respond within 48 hours, you will be removed and the invite goes to the next person on the list

Logistics:

• Check‑in begins at 5:00 AM at Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park
• Race starts at 6:00 AM sharp
• Parking available at the park and nearby streets (arrive early — limited spaces)
• Bib pickup: race morning at the park (5:00‑5:45 AM)
• No dogs allowed on course (wildlife and trail courtesy)
• Strollers not permitted on technical, steep trail
• Wheelchair accessibility not possible — this is a mountain marathon

Weather & Preparedness:

• June in Logan: average high 75‑80°F, low 50‑55°F. Afternoon thunderstorms possible.
• Elevation: start ~4,800 ft, peak near 9,000 ft — runners from sea level should arrive early to acclimatize
• Mandatory gear: not specified — but carry water, nutrition, and a light jacket (mountain weather changes quickly)

20th Running — A Legacy Event:

• First held in 2007, making 2026 the 20th anniversary (skipping 2020? results show 2020 existed — check with RD)
