Love Luton is excited to welcome runners back for the 13th installment of its beloved Runfest, scheduled for October 11, 2026. This year's lineup includes familiar favorites such as the 5k, 10k, and half marathon courses that have remained unchanged since last year’s event. To enhance safety along Hatterts Way, a key stretch on the busway will be closed exclusively for runners. The race day experience begins in Luton’s vibrant town center before venturing into award-winning parks and traffic-free areas, ensuring an enjoyable and secure running environment. Participants can look forward to receiving commemorative medals upon completion of their chosen distance. In addition to overall winners, there are age category prizes available across various male (mv) and female (fv) brackets. The event also features the Danny McCormack Memorial Young Person’s trophy for young participants, along with special recognition in the form of Beds County Half Marathon Championships Prizes. These awards highlight top performances by runners in multiple age categories up to 75+ years old. Three local charities will benefit from this year's Runfest: Keech Hospice Care, Luton & Dunstable Hospital Charity, and Tuff2Talk CIC. Each organization plays a crucial role within the community, providing end-of-life care, hospital support, and mental health services respectively. By participating in or donating to these charities through your registration process, you contribute directly towards their vital work. For those interested in commemorating this special day with merchandise, event T-shirts are available for purchase ahead of time and can be collected at the race venue on October 11th. Participants will enjoy a blend of scenic routes and supportive community spirit as they tackle challenging yet rewarding courses designed to cater to all levels of runners. Join us in Luton this autumn to celebrate another year of running excellence while supporting important local causes.

About Luton
Learn more about the host city, Luton.
Luton is a large town in Bedfordshire, some 35 mi (56 km) north of London. It's a multicultural town with a population of about 200,000. It used to have a straw and hat-making trade, hence "The Hatters" nickname of Luton football club; a couple of factories remain along the Old Bedford Road. Luton later produced Vauxhall cars and Whitbread beers, but little of these remain. Most people only come here for London Luton Airport, a major hub for budget & charter flights. The airport is described below but the focus of this page is the town itself.
