Experience the exhilaration of the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup, Round 6, set amidst the picturesque landscapes of Prospect Park. This event integrates seamlessly into the broader Kissena Cycling Club and Verge series, offering not just a single race but an overall competition that spans multiple disciplines. The course is a 3.4-mile loop through the park’s scenic trails, featuring one significant hill and numerous sweeping turns. Cyclists can expect to navigate this challenging terrain while sharing the road with other park users—pedestrians, joggers, and fellow cyclists alike. Safety and courtesy are paramount; riders must stay vigilant and respectful of their surroundings. This round includes several key competitions: General Classification (GC), King of the Mountain (KOM) for both men’s and women’s categories, Sprint, Best Master 45+, and Women's Open series standings. Each competition has its unique leader kit—yellow for GC, polka-dot for KOM, green for Sprint, silver for Best Master 45+. For the General Classification, King of the Mountain, and Sprint competitions, top finishers in each category will receive substantial cash prizes: $450, $225, and $225 respectively. The Women's Open series also offers significant rewards with a total prize pool of $340 spread across four places. The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup promises an unforgettable experience for all participants. Whether you are competing in the Cat 1-2-3 or Category 3-4 races, there is something to challenge and excite every rider. The atmosphere will be electric as racers vie for leadership positions throughout the series. Timing chips are required for KOM/QOM and Sprint competitions; however, they are not mandatory for all categories. Timing chip purchases can be made during registration or from CRCA members who already own one. A $75 chip is reusable across multiple events and series, making it a worthwhile investment. Registration is strictly online with limited fields. Early sign-ups are highly recommended to secure your spot. Riders in the Cat 1-2-3, Women Open, and Category 3-4 must have chips; Cat 5 riders do not need them for this event. Bib numbers will be provided to all participants starting from 2026, ensuring they remain consistent throughout Prospect Park races. A $15 replacement fee applies if a number is lost or damaged. The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup starts and finishes at the 3rd Street entrance of Prospect Park West, just past the main hill and Grand Army Plaza—familiar territory for seasoned racers but still brimming with new challenges. Remember to adhere strictly to the course rules. Disqualification looms if you venture into the recreation lanes on either side of the park roadway. Violations can result in severe penalties affecting your racing career both locally and beyond. Join us at Prospect Park for an event that combines beauty, competition, and camaraderie. The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup awaits—be part of it!

Brooklyn, the "Borough of Homes and Churches," is one of the five boroughs of New York City. It used to be a separate city, and still feels much like one. It has about 2.5 million inhabitants. If separated from the rest of New York City, Brooklyn would be the 4th most populous American city.
