Experience the thrill of Round 4 of The Verge Series at Prospect Park, where cyclists from diverse categories come together to compete and vie for prestigious titles. This race is part of an overall competition that spans multiple events, with leader kits awarded based on performance. The series links the Kissena Cycling Club's Prospect Park and Floyd Bennett Field races into a unified championship event. For 2026, all races will utilize active timing chips (except Cat 5), ensuring faster live results and detailed lap time reports, KOM, and Sprint classifications. Timing chips are available for purchase with your registration or can be reused if you already own one. Registration is strictly online only, and early entry is highly recommended as field limits may fill up quickly. New this year, all participants will receive a single set of fabric bibs valid across Prospect Park and Floyd Bennett Field races; however, always bring them to avoid the $15 replacement fee. For Junior cyclists, the entry fee stands at just $10 with discount code PPJunior26 available for qualifying entries only. The race start and finish are located at the 3rd Street entrance on Prospect Park West, a familiar spot that offers easy access after the main hill climb. Prizes await in various categories: - Cat 2-3: A total of $450 in cash prizes with three places. - Masters 40+: Similarly, $450 in cash prizes for top finishers. - Cat 4/Novice: Medals awarded to the first five positions. Additional competitions include the General Classification (GC), King of the Mountain (KOM) sprints at two key points during each race, and Stifel Sprint Competition. The GC leader dons a yellow jersey, while KOM leaders sport polka-dot jerseys in both men's and women's categories. Women will alternate between QOM and Green Jersey sprints. A special Silver jersey is reserved for the top 55+ male rider across all Masters races, recognizing their outstanding performance without relying solely on sprint or KOM results. The course offers a challenging yet enjoyable ride with a scenic 3.4-mile loop along Prospect Park's roadway. One moderate hill and sweeping turns add to the adventure. Be mindful of park users while navigating the route; staying alert can make all the difference in your race experience. Remember, no entry is allowed into any recreation lanes (jogger’s lane) on either side of the park roadways under any circumstances. Disqualification or suspension from USA Cycling and future races may result if you violate this rule. This regulation ensures a safe environment for everyone involved. Join us at Prospect Park to test your limits, celebrate camaraderie among competitors, and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds each lap of the course.

About Brooklyn
Learn more about the host city, Brooklyn.
Brooklyn, the "Borough of Homes and Churches," is one of the five boroughs of New York City. It used to be a separate city, and still feels much like one. It has about 2.5 million inhabitants. If separated from the rest of New York City, Brooklyn would be the 4th most populous American city.
