Macedonia Trail Race

Nestled about 90 minutes north of New York City lies the serene landscape of Kent and its surrounding Litchfield Hills. Macedonia Brook State Park, just a short distance from the Appalachian Trail, offers an unparalleled trail running experience with its lush forest trails and challenging terrain. The Macedonia Trail Race, organized by Steep Endurance, features three distances: 12K, 25K, and 50K, providing runners of all levels with diverse challenges.
The race takes place on the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails (BBHT), maintained by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association. The single-track trail winds through a scenic forest, offering technical sections, steep climbs, and rewarding descents. Notably, the 25K course includes two loops of the initial 12K route plus an additional out-and-back section at the start, while the 50K course adds another loop with three ascents up Cobble Mountain.
Runners will encounter breathtaking views from atop Cobble Mountain where clear days reveal stunning vistas of the Catskill Mountains in New York. The challenging terrain is complemented by a mix of rolling hills and technical single-track sections that test runners' endurance and agility.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to post-race festivities featuring a spread of bagels, bananas, pizza, and non-alcoholic hydration options. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance category, along with unique finisher medals from Ragged Cuts and other sponsor goodies.
