Marathon Alblasserwaard 750

Step into the rich history of the Alblasserwaard on March 20, 2027, as you participate in the Alblasserwaard 750 Marathon. This unique marathon celebrates the region's remarkable story dating back to 1277 when Count Floris V established central dike management, marking a centuries-long collaboration to keep this area dry.
The event takes runners through picturesque landscapes that have been meticulously preserved over seven and a half centuries. Starting from Kinderdijk with its iconic windmills, the route winds along historic waterways, charming villages, and expansive open meadows characteristic of the Alblasserwaard's unique landscape before reaching Gorinchem at the finish line.
Safety and enjoyment are paramount for all participants. Given that many paths in this polder region are narrow yet beautiful, runners will start based on their expected finishing times to ensure everyone has ample space throughout the race course without encountering bottlenecks or congestion during the run.
