The marathon route stretches over 42 kilometers, winding along the charming Ravel and crossing historical bridges as you explore the rich heritage of this captivating region. Whether you're a seasoned runner or someone looking to challenge themselves on shorter distances, there’s something for everyone at the Marathon de l'Ourthe.
For those up for the full marathon experience, the race begins from Angleur Train Station with breathtaking views and challenging ascents totaling 278 meters of elevation gain. The semi-marathon starts in Esneux, offering a more manageable yet equally scenic route over 21 kilometers, perfect for intermediate runners seeking a thrilling challenge.
The 10-kilometer run is ideal for beginners or those preferring shorter distances, while the family-friendly 6-kilometer course provides an accessible option for all ages. Each distance offers unique insights into the valley’s natural beauty and historical landmarks.
Race day starts early with registration opening at 8 AM, followed by train departures to Esneux and Angleur from Hamoir station. Shuttle buses will be available in Hamoir to transport participants to their respective starting points for both the 10-kilometer and 6-kilometer races.
The race kicks off with a staggered start: the semi-marathon at 10:45 AM, followed by the full marathon at 11:00 AM. The shorter courses begin slightly later to ensure all runners have ample time for their unique experiences within the valley’s embrace.
