November 6, 2026 marks the 42nd edition of an iconic paddling competition that invites enthusiasts to navigate through the majestic Gorges de l'Ardèche. Participants can choose between two distances: a challenging 34 kilometers or a slightly shorter yet equally thrilling 27 kilometers.
The event features three distinct categories, each offering unique challenges and experiences:
- The Marathon category for kayak and canoe participants.
- The Ard'River Paddle challenge for paddle enthusiasts.
- A special Challenge class designed for larger boats such as pirogues, Ontario canoes, C9s, or other large vessels.
As paddlers make their way down the river, they will encounter breathtaking scenery and steep cliffs that characterize this legendary canyon. Each category presents its own set of difficulties, from navigating narrow passages to dealing with swift currents and rapids, all while enjoying a setting that is both timeless and awe-inspiring.
