Marató Valls de Cardòs

The Marató Vall de Cardós invites runners to explore one of Catalonia's most breathtaking mountain landscapes. The race begins at the tranquil Ribera de Cardós campsite, setting off on an ascent through picturesque villages like Bonestarre and Estaón before tackling a steep four-kilometre climb up Tuc de Lo Calvo, reaching its peak at 2,291 metres.
From there, runners traverse the expansive Campirme mountain range, enjoying panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys. The route continues to Cim del Campirme, standing tall at an impressive 2,632 meters above sea level, offering a momentary rest before descending towards Mascarida Lake.
The race then leads runners through the Pleta de Prat Refuge at Tavascan station where participants can recharge with refreshments. The final leg of the course includes exhilarating trails leading up to Corbiu viewpoint and Trencacalders peak (2,266 m), followed by a descent past Soliguera and Finestres lakes.
The route winds through Coll de Jou before crossing Puitavaca ridge, providing views of serene alpine terrain. The race concludes with runners retracing their steps via Lladrós, Benante and Ainet back to the Ribera campsite where it all began.
