Mateship Run

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Mateship Run returns to Currumbin for its second edition. This year’s event aims not only to raise funds and awareness for Veteran Services but also to commemorate Remembrance Day through a unique blend of tradition and community spirit.
The centerpiece is undoubtedly the 11.11km race, a poignant distance marking the exact hour when World War I ended on November 11, 1918. This route invites runners to honor history while enjoying the scenic creek-side environment of Currumbin. For those seeking a more traditional challenge, both the 5km and 2.5km events are available, making it possible for participants of all ages and abilities to join in.
A new element this year is the team component, emphasizing camaraderie and shared sacrifice. Teams can consist of four members—two males and two females—who will compete as a unit by adding their fastest times together from the 11.11km race. This format encourages teamwork and provides an additional layer of competition.
