MECCA MOVES! 5k 1k Run, Walk & Roll

On September 19, 2026, the streets of Downtown Burr Ridge will come alive with excitement as runners of all ages and abilities gather for MECCA MOVES!, an inclusive race featuring a 5K run/walk and a 1K Kids Dash. Presented by The Mecca Center in partnership with the Village of Burr Ridge, this event promises to be both fun and meaningful.
The day begins at 8:00 AM when participants cross the starting line for the chip-timed USATF-certified race course that winds through scenic Downtown Burr Ridge. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for an enjoyable way to get active, MECCA MOVES! offers something for everyone with its accessible terrain and welcoming atmosphere.
The 5K route showcases some of the best parts of Burr Ridge's downtown area, allowing runners to soak in the vibrant community spirit while enjoying views of charming storefronts and historic landmarks. For younger participants, a special 1K Kids Dash ensures that children have their own race experience tailored just for them, with fun activities designed to inspire joy and healthy living.
All proceeds from MECCA MOVES! will benefit Arab American Family Services (AAFS), supporting critical programs focused on domestic violence prevention and elderly care. By participating in this event, runners not only challenge themselves physically but also contribute positively to the community's well-being.
