Memorial Day Trail Run

Experience the challenging beauty of Oak Mountain State Park on Memorial Day Weekend during the Southeastern Trail Series' third race. Scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd, this year's event promises to be both longer and more demanding than previous races.
Registration closes on Friday, May 9th if you want a guaranteed race shirt; however, extra shirts may still be available after that date at packet pickup following the race weekend. Active military personnel can participate free of charge by presenting their ID during registration or packet pickup and using the coupon code "2026US.Military" when registering online.
The event kicks off early on Saturday morning with a 6-mile and a 12-mile trail run, both starting promptly at 8:00 AM from the iron gate north entrance of Oak Mountain State Park. Packet pickup for race participants will take place Friday evening at Mountain High Outfitters or on race day itself between 6:45 to 7:45 AM at the park.
Runners can expect a mix of rugged terrain and scenic views as they navigate through the varied landscapes of Oak Mountain, including lush forests and open trails. The course is marked with clear signs guiding runners throughout their journey.
Awards will be presented for overall male and female winners in both distances, along with age group distinctions that include Masters (40-49), Grand Master (50-59), Ultra Grand Master (60+). Additionally, special awards are given to the top 16-and-under finishers.
For those looking to explore more of what Oak Mountain State Park has to offer before or after race day, there's plenty of opportunity for hiking and outdoor activities. Don't forget that a $5 per person fee is required for parking at the north entrance where the race begins.
