MESA COUNTY SEARCH & RESCUE 5K RACE,

September 26th 2026, in conjunction with Fruita Fall Festival

COST: EARLY REGISTRATION By SEP 6th: 13 and under: $20 / 14 and over: $25

REGISTRATION AFTER SEP 6th: 13 and under: $30 / 14 and over: $35
Tee Shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations after September 17th. Because we have to order shirts in advance of the race, We are required to estimate the number of shirts and sizes needed for runners registering after September 17th. We will do our best, but shirt and specific size availability is not guaranteed.

WHO: Open to all age groups

AGE CATEGORIES: 13 & under; 14-19; 20-34; 35-49; 50-64; 65+

WHAT: Annual 5k race. Prizes for male and female, first place, second place and third place winners as well as male and female, first place, second place and third place in each age category. Enjoyment for ALL! Racers can pick up bibs and t-shirts the day before the event at our main festival booth located in downtown Fruita.

WHERE: Race starting and ending location - Fruita Community Center, 324 Coulson St, Fruita, CO 81521, PLEASE PARK at Shelledy elementary school 353 N Mesa St, Fruita, CO 81521. Prizes awarded at Fruite Civic Center Park at 12 noon

WHEN: September 26th, 2026, at 8:30AM

WHY: Mesa County Search & Rescue is an all‑volunteer, nonprofit organization, dedicated to serving our community. This race supports our annual fundraiser and outreach efforts in partnership with the Fruita Fall Festival.

Pick-up t-shirts and race numbers as follows:

FRIDAY - 5:00-8:00PM at the Mesa County Search & Rescue tent in downtown Fruita at the Fruita fall festival

SATURDAY - 7:00-8:00AM at the Fruita Community Center before the start of the race

About Fruita

Fruita is a home rule municipality located in western Mesa County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 13,395 at the 2020 United States census. Fruita is a part of the Grand Junction, Colorado Metropolitan Statistical Area and lies within the Grand Valley. The geography is identified by the bordering Colorado River on the southern edge of the town, the Uncompahgre Plateau known for its pinyon-juniper landscape, and the Book Cliffs range on the northern edge of the Grand Valley. Originally home to the Ute people, farmers settled the town after founder William Pabor in 1884. Ten years later, Fruita was incorporated.
