Join the vibrant celebration on October 24th as Miles for Migraine returns for its 18th edition. Starting at the iconic Music Concourse Bandshell within Golden Gate Park, runners and walkers will be surrounded by towering trees and picturesque landscapes of Polo Fields early in the morning. The crisp autumn air invites participants to traverse through well-maintained trails that offer a mostly flat terrain, making it accessible for all skill levels while still providing an exciting professional timing experience. The 5K chip-timed run weaves its way through lush greenery, offering breathtaking views and ensuring every step is rewarding. For those preferring a more relaxed pace, the 2-mile untimed walk provides a peaceful route allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in nature's beauty. Both events conclude at the Music Concourse Bandshell, where finisher medals await along with opportunities for camaraderie among fellow runners and walkers. Virtual options are also available for those unable to join on race day but still wish to contribute to Migraine & Headache Awareness, Treatment & Research efforts. Encouragement is given to wear purple in support of the cause. Registration costs $10 for participants running the 5K, while virtual registrants pay a fee of $25. Bibs can be picked up at San Francisco City Hall starting October 23rd from 9 AM with photo ID verification required. Participants should report by 7:00 AM on race day with their bibs ready. Children under five are not permitted to participate in the event due to safety considerations. Ideal running conditions, with temperatures ranging between 13 and 22 degrees Celsius, a mild wind speed of ten miles per hour, and humidity at 73%, promise an optimal experience. Embrace this community-driven day filled with support, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to migraine awareness as you run or walk through the serene beauty of Golden Gate Park.
