Join the Montrose Triathlon Club for an exhilarating duathlon on September 27, 2026, set against the picturesque backdrop of the National Trust for Scotland's House of Dun. This event offers a blend of scenic countryside and challenging terrain, making it perfect for both seasoned athletes and enthusiastic newcomers.

The duathlon features a total distance of approximately 35.2 kilometers (run-bike-run format), with the run sections totaling 9.4 kilometers and the bike leg spanning 25.8 kilometers. The event is designed to test your endurance while offering stunning views and unique challenges.
Course Description:
- Run Section: Both runs are off-road within the House of Dun grounds, covering a combined distance of 9.4 kilometers. Trail running shoes or road trainers that you don't mind getting muddy are recommended due to potential slippery conditions.

- Bike Section: The bike route is primarily on quiet country roads, providing an opportunity for cyclists to enjoy serene landscapes while adhering strictly to the highway code.
Key Information:
- A mandatory stop and unclip from pedal point at the Dun/Montrose road junction ensures safety by preventing accidents due to unexpected traffic. Disqualification will result if this rule is not followed.

- Registration opens on-site at 08:00, with a compulsory briefing starting at 09:00, leading into race starts promptly at 09:45.
Entry and Team Participation:
Entries are limited to 120 participants, allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Teams of up to four members can also participate but must register under the team leader's name with all member names specified upon sign-up. Each participant will receive a timing chip/race number that serves as their baton for passing between sections.
Prizes:
Awards are given to first, second, and third place in both open categories (male/female) along with a prize for the top team overall.
Logistics:
- Car parking is available but limited. Participants should car share where possible and bring £3 or card payment for entry.

- First aid will be on-site at the House of Dun, ensuring safety during the event.
After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy breakfast rolls and coffee in the House of Dun café.
