Mount Robson Marathon

Experience the unparalleled beauty of Mount Robson Provincial Park at the Berg Lake Trail Marathon, a grassroots community event that celebrates nature's majesty through running. Following devastating floods in 2021, this year marks an exciting return to showcase one of North America’s premier hiking trails.
The marathon offers runners four distinct distances: the Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon, Kinney Lake 12km run, and Flatlander 5km race. All events commence at the Mount Robson Welcome Centre before venturing along the Berg Lake Trail up the Robson River. Each route is an out-and-back journey with water/aid stations strategically placed for hydration.
The Ultra Marathon traverses the entire Berg Lake Trail, passing through diverse environments and culminating in a turnaround point just beyond the breathtaking shores of Berg Lake. Elevation gains are substantial at 825 meters, with much of this rise occurring over a challenging yet rewarding 5km stretch known as the Valley of a Thousand Falls.
For those seeking less demanding options, the Half Marathon follows a well-maintained double-track trail leading to Kinney Lake before turning back. The Kinney Lake 12km run takes runners to a turnaround point at the outflow bridge above the lake. Meanwhile, the Flatlander 5km offers mostly flat terrain with just a gentle incline near the start.
Kids can also join in the fun with a free Kids’ Fun Run around the Mount Robson Information Centre during race day festivities.
