On Saturday, November 7, 2026, Christie Lake Conservation Area welcomes runners and their furry companions for a special canicross event. This unique gathering honors Murphy, Steeltown Canicross' first shelter dog to join the group on one of its runs. Over the past two years, more than 200 dogs from Hamilton Animal Services have joined weekly outings organized by dedicated members of Steeltown Canicross. The scenic trails of Christie Lake Conservation Area provide a perfect backdrop for this heartwarming event. Participants will enjoy a day filled with exercise and camaraderie as they run alongside their four-legged friends through the natural beauty that surrounds them. The race, while celebrating dogs from local shelters, also emphasizes community support and animal welfare.
