Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Florida’s Nature Coast as you embark on one of its most captivating endurance events: the Nature Coast 100K and 50K. Hosted by Combat Racing, this race offers runners an unparalleled journey through the historic railroad corridors that now form the paved Nature Coast State Trail. The event takes place in Chiefland, Florida, a destination renowned for its tranquil landscapes and rich history. Participants will traverse miles of scenic trail, passing through charming small towns with their distinctive southern flair. The course features river crossings and offers runners an intimate look at the diverse ecosystems that flourish along the Suwannee River region. For those who choose to ruck, this event presents a unique challenge by requiring participants to carry specific minimum weights throughout the entire race—20 pounds for women and men under 150 lbs., and 30 pounds for men over 150 lbs. This adds an extra layer of difficulty but also enhances the sense of accomplishment as you complete your journey. The Nature Coast State Trail, known for its smooth pavement and lush surroundings, provides a perfect backdrop for this event. Towering oak hammocks, pine forests, serene wetlands, and glimpses of wildlife like deer, wild turkeys, gopher tortoises, hawks, and the iconic Gulf sturgeon make every mile unique. Aid stations are strategically placed along the route to provide essential support with water, electrolyte drinks, snacks, basic first aid supplies, and restrooms at select locations. Pacers can join runners after noon but must adhere to strict guidelines set by race management to ensure safety for all participants. The event begins and concludes at the College of Central Florida – Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus in Chiefland, where free parking is available on-site. Bib pickup will be held both Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning starting at 5:30 AM for those who prefer a last-minute visit. With its stunning scenery and supportive community atmosphere, the Nature Coast 100K and 50K promises an unforgettable adventure that celebrates both individual achievement and shared camaraderie. Whether you are aiming to conquer your first ultra-distance race or setting out to improve upon personal bests, this event is designed to cater to a wide range of runners while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Join us on December 5, 2026, for an experience that showcases the hidden gems and natural wonders of Florida’s Nature Coast.
