No Bunny Left Behind

About the Event

The No Bunny Left Behind 5K run returns to Oxford, Nova Scotia on October 17th, 2026, supporting Pugwash Ground Search and Rescue. The event will take place along the famous Oxford Bunny Trail, a picturesque route through the community's lush parklands.
Race morning in Oxford is typically crisp with temperatures ranging from a low of 7.4°C to a high of 15.3°C on October mornings. Humidity levels are around 78%, making it feel somewhat damp and cool for those early hours, but the trail conditions remain firm and slightly soft underfoot. The day will offer seven and a half hours of sunshine, with UV index at a low level, ensuring clear skies.
This event has been running since its inception in 2014, growing each year to support Pugwash Ground Search and Rescue's vital work. In 2025, over 300 participants joined the fun for both the Big Bunny (10K) and Bitty Bunny (5K). The race not only brings together runners of all ages but also raises funds that directly contribute to the community’s safety.
The course venue is the Oxford Bunny Trail, a well-known path through the town park. It offers gentle terrain with rolling hills and soft surfaces perfect for both running and walking. The 10K route will follow the full trail, while the 5K loop covers approximately half of it. Notable features include scenic views and some steep but manageable inclines.
Starting at the Oxford Town Hall on High Street, runners can expect a flat course with minimal elevation changes. Along the way, there are no aid stations planned as the route is well-suited for self-sufficient participants. The race will finish in the same location, offering easy access to post-race festivities like the BBQ.
Weather conditions predict an average temperature of 11.3°C and a high of 15.3°C on October 17th. With humidity levels at around 78%, it's expected to be slightly damp but not overly uncomfortable. Wind speeds will likely reach up to 12 km/h, which is manageable for most runners.
