The Night Run Around Unín, organized collaboratively by the local community and sponsored entities, invites runners to experience an evening of unique challenges on July 27th. The race starts at TJ Unín Stadium's field area no later than 8:30 PM for adults and 6:30 PM for juniors under 18 years old.
Registration is free for youth categories but costs €8 or 210 Kč (approximately $9 USD) for adult participants up to July 27, 2026. On-site registration fees are higher at €10 or 250 Kč. The race begins promptly at 9:00 PM with a route that winds through asphalt roads and pathways in the town’s local areas, blending into forest trails and open fields.
Runners will encounter varied terrain illuminated by artificial lighting, enhancing visibility during evening hours. Participants are encouraged to wear reflective gear for safety and bring their own light sources such as headlamps or flashlights to navigate effectively under low-light conditions. Reflective accessories can be placed strategically on clothing or equipment to increase visibility in the dark.
The event offers awards for both male and female winners, recognizing outstanding performances within designated categories. Each runner is responsible for ensuring they are physically fit before participating; parents must ensure their children's readiness as well. The race proceeds under all weather conditions unless safety concerns arise.
Given the nature of running at night with artificial lighting, extra caution is advised to avoid accidents. Organizers reserve the right to adjust start times and routes if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances or participant numbers being too low for proper competition evaluation—minimum five runners are required per category.
