About the Event
Join the Sunday Omnium Racing series at the Northeast Velodrome on a sunny afternoon. The gates open at 11 AM, with racing set to commence promptly at noon. Whether you're an enthusiastic newcomer or a seasoned racer looking for a competitive challenge, there's a category tailored just for you. For Grassroots Members, race fees are slashed to only $10 when using your membership discount code. NEV Members can compete free of charge by entering the same promotional code. With recurring races throughout the season, joining as a member quickly pays off in terms of reduced costs and enhanced experience. The event features three distinct categories: A Race for experienced riders (Cat 1-3 and Masters), B Race catering to more intermediate racers (Cat 4/5 and Masters), and C/Novice Race designed specifically for beginners and new track cyclists. The latter includes a gear restriction of up to 50x15, fostering confidence-building in a supportive environment. Unique to the C/Novice field are built-in coaching opportunities with rolling coaches who ride within the race to provide real-time guidance on positioning and tactics. This ensures that newcomers receive personalized support while racing, making their first experience both safe and positive. It's an excellent way to gain practical race skills from experienced riders in a nurturing setting. Field sizes may vary based on registration numbers, allowing for flexibility in combining or adjusting categories as needed. Additionally, women’s fields can be added if there is sufficient interest, ensuring equal opportunities across all participants. Race formats are tailored to the field size to maximize competitiveness and enjoyment for everyone involved. Open gearing rules apply to A/B categories unless otherwise specified, promoting fair competition among racers. Safety remains a priority; all riders must race safely and respectfully towards one another. Pre-registration is highly recommended as it helps organizers plan optimal racing conditions for participants. Get ready to push your limits, learn new skills, and immerse yourself in the vibrant track community at Northeast Velodrome on Sunday afternoon. Race hard, absorb valuable lessons, and enjoy a day filled with excitement and camaraderie.
