Northern Traverse® 2027

The Northern Traverse, one of England’s most breathtaking ultra races, invites runners from around the world to embark on an unforgettable journey across some of Britain's most iconic landscapes. Starting at St Bees along the rugged west coast, this challenging course weaves through three National Parks—Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors—culminating in Robin Hood’s Bay on the eastern shores.
With a total elevation gain of approximately 6,500 meters, runners will encounter diverse terrain ranging from steep mountain ascents to serene valley descents. This race is not just about pushing physical limits but also immersing oneself in the rich natural beauty and cultural heritage that England has to offer. From rolling moors dotted with heather to picturesque villages nestled among towering peaks, each mile of this route offers a unique perspective on the region’s stunning geography.
Due to its popularity, new entries are now being added to a waiting list at no cost until further notice.
