Discover the breathtaking beauty and rugged terrain of southern Arizona with Old Pueblo's upcoming March 6th, 2027 race. This year marks an exciting addition to our lineup: a challenging 50k distance option that invites runners to explore one of the most spectacular sections of the Arizona Trail. The journey begins at Kentucky Camp, a historic mining site nestled in the heart of the Santa Rita Mountains. From there, you'll embark on a 25-mile loop through forest service roads and trails, with breathtaking views of Mt. Wrightson towering over you at an impressive elevation of 9452 feet. The course winds its way up and down steep ascents ranging from 4031 to 6232 feet above sea level, offering a mix of rocky terrain and scenic vistas. Runners will be treated to the serene beauty of southern Arizona's diverse landscapes as they navigate through dense forests and open meadows. The average grade of 6% keeps runners engaged throughout, making this race both mentally and physically demanding yet incredibly rewarding for those who love trail running in challenging conditions. Upon completion, participants can look forward to a post-race cookout where camaraderie flourishes among fellow athletes. All finishers will receive commemorative awards as well as exclusive swag from our sponsors. The top three male and female runners in each category will also be recognized with special prizes. For those looking for an even greater challenge, Old Pueblo is part of the Southern Arizona Triple 50 series. By completing this race along with Colossal Vail and Oracle Rumble within a single season, you'll unlock unique awards and discounts on future events hosted by RunAZT (https://runazt.org/southern-arizona-triple-50). In addition to these achievements, the first-place male and female finishers in both our 25-mile and 50-mile races will earn exclusive Sterling Silver Tickets for guaranteed entry into the prestigious Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run (https://ac100.com/). Similarly, top performers from PhoMo 50K hosted by Ghosthead Productions can secure free entries to both Old Pueblo's events and vice versa. Discounts are available for Native Americans, active duty military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders. For more information on eligibility requirements or other inquiries, please contact the race director via our website’s contact page (www.oldpueblo50.com). Please note that this is a cupless event, meaning participants must carry their own hydration supplies. Hammer Nutrition kindly provides each runner with a reusable collapsible cup during packet pickup to help reduce waste. Join us for an unforgettable adventure in southern Arizona and experience the thrill of Old Pueblo's challenging terrain while immersing yourself in its stunning natural beauty. We look forward to seeing you there!
