Operation First Response 5k & 10k

Operation First Response 5K & 10K returns to Culpeper, Virginia on August 8th, 2026. The race begins in the heart of downtown at Cattaraugus Park, a lovely venue known for its green spaces and historical charm.
On race morning, expect a cool and crisp start with temperatures ranging from 18.5 to 29.8 degrees Celsius, feeling like around 24.2C. The Hard and dry surface promises a smooth run, but the high UV index of 7 suggests sun protection will be essential throughout the day. The event has been running since its inception in 2015, supporting Active-Duty Military Personnel, Disabled Veterans, Gold Star families, and First Responders with vital financial assistance during times of crisis. Over the years, it has garnered support from over 800 participants who have contributed to making this race a beloved community tradition.
The course spans through Cattaraugus Park and its surroundings, offering a mix of paved paths and well-maintained trails. Participants will start at the park's main entrance on Main Street and loop back towards downtown Culpeper before crossing the finish line again in the same location. Along the route, there are no aid stations planned due to the short distances.
