Orton Fell Race

Set against the backdrop of Orton C of E Primary School, this dynamic and challenging race welcomes teams of three to tackle its scenic route. The course winds through picturesque landscapes, offering runners an engaging mix of terrain that includes rolling hills with a total climb of 258 meters.
The event caters specifically to those aged 10 years and above, featuring separate junior races for younger participants: one for U10/12 athletes starting at 1pm, followed by another race designed for older juniors in the U14/16 category. These junior events provide a platform for young talents to showcase their abilities while enjoying an inclusive atmosphere.
For adult competitors, the senior race kicks off promptly at 2:00 PM, offering them a chance to test their skills against some of the best runners in the region. The course is meticulously designed with elevation changes and varied surfaces that challenge endurance as well as technical running capabilities.
Entry for junior races can be made on the day itself for just £3 per participant, making it accessible and convenient for families looking to participate. This race is officially licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UK Athletics rules, ensuring a fair and professional competition environment.
With notable records set in past years—M Donnelly's impressive time of 0:38:21 from 2010 for men and Lizzie Brownie’s strong performance with 0:44:59 back in 2016 for women—the event promises to be a thrilling showcase of athletic prowess.
